I for one am excited for the launch of the new website. The change that I really like is the log in option on every page. That is more prominent and user friendly. I also like the “What’s New” slider, visually displaying our new items. I like to browse by covers so I think this will also be easier (though it would be nice to get movie covers for that function as well).
The one thing that is missing is the visual customization of our webpage i.e. the webslides. The “Latest Updates” section does replace that functionality but it drastically changes how we can promote special services and events.
I think the main features that patrons are looking for are now easier to find. Links are no longer buried in drop down menus and the footer should help with navigation.
*On a side note, it took several staff members working and collaborating together several months to finish this project. Nice work everyone!
